A letter to the men of Fresh Spring …

Wednesday, April 28th, 2010

Dear Manly Men of the Fresh Spring Baptist Church:

Thank you so much for all of your wonderful efforts to make the Ladies’ Conference this weekend such a memorable and special event. It was very touching to have the men of the congregation step up and serve the ladies. To the men who cooked and served dinner, bravo! The food was amazing, the fellowship wonderful, and the service delightful. You are all especially handsome wearing neckties.

Thanks, too, to the men who served in the background by taking on extra Daddy duties this weekend or helping in many ways to give the women the time and space for this period of refreshing.

And a special thanks to the men who might have been just a tiny bit envious of the awesome speaker and great time we had and who stepped back and let us ladies learn and grow in the Lord.

What a blessing to be part of such an amazing church!

Prayer need- Haitian child

Monday, February 8th, 2010

Hi,

Urgent prayer is requested for Jobnel Sybrun and his family in Haiti. Jobnel is a teenager that I support through Compassion. He is one of 8 children and lives with his parents. They aren’t in Port-au-Prince but I do not know if and how much they were affected by the earthquake. Please pray for their safety! There is no word from them but, of course, communications is all but shut down right now.

Thanks!
Jo Ann LeQuang

UPDATE- Just a praise report from Haiti. My “child,” Jobnel Sybrun is alive! He was in an area that suffered pretty extensive property damage but no loss of life in the whole community. So all is as well as we could hope for, given the circumstances.

Thank you for your prayers—and keep praying … please pray for the Compassion staff in Haiti which is using a network of churches to get food and supplies to the people (and not getting bottle-necked by some of the government bureaucracy). The Haiti churches are working almost round the clock to do this and they’re doing a great job … please pray for their continued strength and resolution.

Praise- nursing home ministry

Saturday, February 6th, 2010

Thursday, I received an email from one of the men that attends our Sunday morning services at Lake Jackson Healthcare Center. He stated that he had been baptized, but that he wasn’t sure if he was saved.

Friday, I went by the nursing home to meet with him and after a lengthy conversation we agreed that his baptism was not in obedience as a born again believer. He stated that he wanted to be forgiven and saved. This afternoon, Danny accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.
